AstroGrams™ is "All Systems Go" to the International Space Station

For Immediate Release
December 9th, 2019

AstroGrams™ (AG) and Craig Technologies™ (CT) are delighted to announce that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate and develop payloads to be delivered to the International Space Station (ISS). AstroGrams™ will make use of CT's on-orbit external experimental facility hosted on the NanoRacks International Space Station External Platform. The MoU will also include a number of joint marketing initiatives moving forward.

Moonwalker and Apollo 16 astronaut Charlie Duke commented that "We are delighted to have signed this MoU with Craig Technologies, an innovative and proven company, to deliver our payloads to the ISS. We are particularly pleased that our first payload, one of many planned to be sent to the ISS with CT, is on schedule to be delivered to the ISS during Q3 2020, to remain on the ISS for up to 24 weeks."

Charlie went on to say "To deliver a key part of the AstroGrams™ mission, to promote and encourage interest in space to younger generations, an element of every payload will be made available, free of charge, to pediatric patients in hospitals around the globe. As well as encouraging interest in space, we wish to stimulate and hearten children's spirits by providing a personal reason to look forward to space launches."

"I am delighted to be working with Charlie Duke and the AstroGrams™ team in developing and progressing their payloads which we will deliver to the ISS. Not only will the children be able to watch the launch of their messages to the ISS but, when the ISS flies overhead of their location, they will actually be able to see their messages flying in space" said founder and CEO Carol Craig.

Carol added that "The CraigX Flight Test Platform is designed to mount externally to the ISS and promote electronics testing to raise Technology Readiness Levels at a low cost and a reduced time frame. The interchangeable panel design minimizes hardware changes between missions while maximizing flexibility to accommodate customer requirements. The AG payload will also be analyzed during the missions."
